Real Good Hands

My dog Joey is pretty terrified of the vacuum cleaner. Most dogs are. He's fine until I get a little too close for comfort. Then he bolts out of the room. But here's an interesting fun fact.

If I put my hand on him, I can run the vacuum right up close to his paws and he won't bolt. He doesn't like it, but he doesn't run off. He trusts my hand. He knows if I am touching him, if my hand is on him, everything is going to be okay. My hand alleviates his fear.

I wonder if God's hand squelches fear. Do we sense God's hand on our lives? Are we afraid of the same things everyone else is afraid of? Do we believe God will protect, cover, and keep us secure in His care? Do we trust His hands?

We aren't made for fear. We're meant to have such deep connection with God that we can live in freedom, trust and security.

I hope you know today that God's hand is on you, and that His hand is good. I pray you feel His presence and power in your life. And, maybe for the first time, you can face your "vacuum" with fresh confidence and peace knowing God's hand is on you, ready to protect and take care of you.

Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Here's to less fear and more trust. We are in real good hands.

Joyfully,

Rachel B.
